When one thinks about the word love, they typically think of a relationship between two people. Love is something more than the love that two people share for each other. It is what the entire universe is made of. It is an ever-present feeling that once it is seen, it never goes away.
In this 3-D physical realm, love is viewed as a set of emotions and behaviors characterized by intimacy, passion, and commitment. It involves care, closeness, protectiveness, attraction, affection, and trust, but it can vary in intensity and can change over time. It is associated with a range of positive emotions, including happiness, excitement, life satisfaction, and euphoria, but it can also result in negative emotions such as jealousy, greed and stress.
Although hormones and biology are important, the way we express and experience love is also influenced by our personal conceptions of love, as love has a different personal meaning for everyone. Sometimes it can be difficult to cope with love. How can something so rich and pure even exist when the world we live in seems chaotic and unfair? Love is what we were before incarnation and what we will be after our avatar dies.
This leads to the creation of the ego, which we recommend you read more about HERE.
Self-love and spirituality go hand-in-hand. When you grow in your spiritual practice, you also grow in your self-love and vice versa.
Spiritual self-love is a beautiful way to incorporate love into your life in very simple ways, but more importantly, it connects you to you, which is the most important connection in your life. Without your own connection to self, you will constantly look for it elsewhere, be stuck within your ego and hence, dogma. It is a never ending and unfulfilling cycle.
Western culture focuses on attracting love, or looking outside oneself for love. However, you will only be able to receive as much love as you give to yourself. Remember this;
"One can only love to the level they love themselves, communicate to the level of their self-awareness and behave to the level of their healed trauma."
You should never feel guilty or ashamed for wanting better for yourself. No one knows you better than you do. No one loves you more than you do. No one is more innerstanding of you than you are. This is your life to live and no one else's. You owe no one an explanation for being you. You owe no one an explanation as to why you want the best for yourself.
